Prologue: I have been meaning to write a series about Holidays and Observances that we (my family and friends) follow in both India (my birth country) and USA (my adopted country). This series is dedicated to those. On a side note, perhaps I might witness some of the celebrations from other countries as well that may get their way into this series. š
This year the International Friendship Day was celebrated on July 30th (2023) as opposed to August 7th due to the new declaration by The United Nations. Originally created by Hallmark Cards in the 1930s, this has become a tradition now.
Celebrate the day with your friends and best friends; be thankful for the relationships that nurture you and bloom your life. And also encourage peace and happiness all around. Here is a snapshot of some of my friends who are close to me and am grateful for them every single day.
