Holidays & Observances: Chandraayan 3 lands on Moon

Prologue: I have been meaning to write a series about Holidays and Observances that we (my family and friends) follow in both India (my birth country) and USA (my adopted country). This series is dedicated to those. On a side note, perhaps I might witness some of the celebrations from other countries as well that may get their way into this series. šŸ™‚

This is not a holiday or observance, but it has been a proud day for India when Chandraayan 3 – the third mission to moon in the Chandraayan program – landed on Moon, specially on the South Pole that is rarely ventured by any country so far. It happened on Aug 23rd this year (2023).

Oh, so many attempts have been made by many countries, but it was India that finally landed as part of their lunar-exploration missions by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The mission consisted of a lunar lander named Vikram and a lunar rover named Pragyan. A proud moment to all those who had been part of this successful mission as well as to India. Here is the landing of Chandraayan 3 from the live telecast I had watched on YouTube.
