Chasing Waterfalls: Mill Pond Falls

For all the posts in the Chasing Waterfalls Series, go here.

Prologue: Inspired by the 2021 Hallmark romantic movie Chasing Waterfalls started my own blog, featuring the local waterfalls in the State of Connecticut where I live, and also may be any waterfalls that I might come across in my trips around America and the World. The film was released in July 2021, as part of their “Spring Fling” lineup. The lead actress, Cindy Busby, as Amy Atwater, a photo journalist, goes to a remote town to find a mythical waterfall. Her co-star Christopher Russell, as Mark North is her guide on this enchanted trip.

Now I am chasing these majestic and gorgeous waterfalls. Next up is the Mill Pond Falls at Mill Pond Park in Newington, Connecticut.

This waterfall can be seen in its full glory on when it rains a lot. Otherwise there is only a small trickle of water that flows down these rocks from the Mill Pond high up. I had been waiting for a heavy rainy day to capture these falls. Finally one of the days in August I hit gold. Here is the roaring Mill Pond Falls after a day and night full of downpour.

Checkout the flow in this video. Simply stunning.

And here is the view from a bit far.

I tried capturing the falls within this dew drop. Not a clear shot, but it does show the reflection of the falls in them. Can you see them?
