For posts on various restaurants that I visited, go here.
Prologue: May 10th is National Small Business Day. One of those are these cute little mom and pop restaurants or locally owned cafes and dive-ins. This series brings forth those little nuggets of places that I visit for my meals.
Verdictum: This is one of those places that has both the name, the ambience and food all hit the mark. Must visit joint if you happen to pass by Newington in Connecticut.
Why is this place called as Flying Monkey and has monkey sculptures and motifs all through the restaurant as part of their décor is a question I don’t have an answer too. However they serve authentic food, and provide music with inviting ambience.

Here are my 2 cents:
First Impressions:
The entire interior décor is filled with all kinds of monkey sculptures and motifs.

They have alternate Wednesdays Salsa or Jazz nights. While Thursday to Sunday they have live music. That is pretty entertaining.
The food is authentic and tasty with several choices for all kinds of diet.

Even their food has “Monkey” added to the names of some of the dishes. For instance, we had these Monkey Rolls. 😛

Amelioration:
1) It is a little high priced compared to other restaurants. However, the taste and ambience makes up for it.
