Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2023). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
For Day 11 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem using an existing form such as a recipe, a diary entry, a shopping list, a song list, a set of instructions etc. I chose a diary entry of a fictious girl for my version.
Prompt 11: How to Process Not Having a Child
Get married and have a child and a family – life’s goal.
Fate has other plans unfortunately.
Sadistic husband gave pain than a child.
Finally she finds freedom and flies.
Dates a nice guy after a long thought.
But he leaves her for another girl.
Left alone again, she finds happiness by making her life bright.
Fate has other plans unfortunately.
The cruel hands of cancer clutches
Takes hold of every organ depriving of a child.
Years of struggle and cancer leaves
Fate has other plans unfortunately.
Three years of bliss and then one day she falls
And cancer comes back reeling.
Now she fights fate to live with no dreams of a child.
She finds peace in the present, no regrets of the past.
Fate has other plans perhaps, wait and fight.
