Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge: Day 23

For all the poems in this Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge for 2023, visit my musings here.

Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2023). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.

For Day 23 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem about a paradox that plays the main role and use contradictions if possible. Here is my take.

Prompt 23: The Paradox of Massage

She saw the beautiful façade of the building
And walked in for a much needed spa session.
Turns out the masseuse was hard of hearing
That lead to her coming out with more pain.
She is still looking for her happy place.

A surprise cruise as a birthday gift put her
Onto a ship with tempting salons and packages.
Apparently they deal with Roman gladiators
Than normal people leaving her unsatisfactory.
She is still looking for her happy place.

Tired from work, she goes off on a whim to a pretty resort
With luxury villas and special beauty treatments.
She found herself in the midst of unknown
Products and questionable methods to venture.
She is still looking for her happy place.

Walking through a quaint little town nearby she saw
A small bungalow with interesting furnishings and surroundings.
The ambience inside were pleasing to her senses
And so were the therapists handling the patrons.
She found her happy place!!
