Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge: Day 25

For all the poems in this Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge for 2023, visit my musings here.

Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2023). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.

For Day 25 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem on another surrealist movement in which the writer or artist tap into subconscious, where dreams rise into reality blurring the lines. Here is my take.

Prompt 25: Canopy of Willow Tree or Shelter of a Green Umbrella

I was at the crossroads in my dream remembering Robert Frost’s poem
The Road Not Taken; wondering about surprises await on each path.
The hanging branches of the willow tree give way to wholesome
Miasma of sparkling fog; silvery waves over a warm hearth.

There lies a large Water Lily in the midst; opened to reveal a tiny
Dwelling; charm and quaint; with a rivulet running by it’s side
Flowing into a waterfall roaring mighty and yet sounding gently.
In my threshold consciousness I filled a bucket large and wide.

The sun shone bright and golden; almost touching the warm
Rays; but look they are lengthy ribbons beckoning to be taken
Which I tied them around my long braided plaits to transform
Into hanging branches of the willow tree; I awoke deeply shaken.
