Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2023). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
For Day 29 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem about a person we know personally and about an activity they did that would surprise us. Here is my take.
Prompt 29: My Mom Runs a 5K
What can I say! Just that my Mom does
Like to try everything she can.
And one day she donned on her open-toed
Sandals; started walking with me while
I was doing my 5k run-jog.
Finally she was ready to take the big leap;
We signed up together for an indoor 5K.
She finished it successfully; and above all
She did it wearing open-toed sandals
With a traditional saree as her outfit.
Surprise to all of us that she took this huge step.
Here is the finisher’s medal she got. 🙂
