As I mentioned in my hiking post about East Rock Mountain in New Haven, Connecticut, this is a heaven and haven for some lovely song birds that one can hear all the way up to the top of the mountain. The Mill River watershed is home to all birds and animals including breeding spot for Water Fowls, Fishes, Turtles, and other water birds. We even saw a Bird House hung up a tree.
Of course who can forget the wild blossoms spreading their fragrance all along the hike. I have no idea what they are called but they charmed us a lot and made us forget to be tired. Even at the time closer to 11AM we could see dew on the leaves as though someone stuck translucent pearls all along their surface.

I got distracted so many times stopping and admire the beauty around and perhaps that also added to the additional 1 hr we took to complete the hike. π
