Prologue: A friend’s constant posts about some of the late 80s and early 90s tapori Bollywood songs prompted me to create this series Originally planned to post songs from Hindi (Indian Language) films only. Then I decided to find such songs in Telugu (= Indian Language), my mother tongue; and English. If you come across any songs in any language that would fall in this category, feel free to comment and I will post about them too.
Tapori = A street thug with unique style of language; similar to ghettos. Crudely also means something meaningless yet totally fun.
Bemaina = Urdu word for meaningless

Next on this list is Akhiyon Se Goli Maare from the 1998 Indian Hindi language romantic comedy film Dulhe Raja (= King Groom) pictured on Govinda and Raveena Tandon. Background vocals provided by Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula. Music was composed by the duo Anand-Milind and Lyrics penned by Sameer.
Later in 2002, the song title inspired the film of the same name in which the same lead actors acted, although that film didn’t have the remix song. In fact in the 2019 Indian Hindi Language romantic film Pati, Patni Aur Who (= Husband, Wife and Her) which was a remake of the original 1978 film of the same name had the remix of this song. This song was so popular that this 2002 movie recreated it twice for the same film – once by Tanishk Bagchi (vocals provided by Mika Singh and Tulsi Kumar) and then by DJ Chetas (vocals provided by Dev Negi and Asees Kaur). Here is the Tanishk Bagchi version. They changed the opening lyrics and some in between but the basic song remained the same.
