Leafing Through Pages – Love Endures
Stars: 2 / 5
Recommendation: A decent novella but it did irk me a bit for both the ghost and out lead heroine that made me breeze thru the chapters.
Ritual in Death is the sixth novella in the long running In Death Series by J. D. Robb, the alter ego of the famous American romance novelist Nora Roberts. This was originally published in Suite 606 anthology book in November of 2008 in which Nora published her novella with three of her recurring authors – Mary Blayney, Ruth Ryan Langan and Mary Kay McComas.
The second novella is titled Love Endures by Mary Blayney in the anthology series. This story takes us to a place in the Regency Era and a ghost called Reggie Cassidy, and two lovers who had been kept apart for five years, Lord Stephen Bradley and Summer Cassidy. Oh don’t forget the magical coin that Mary weaves into the tapestry.

It was a very short novella of 100 pages that went about how Reggie Cassidy, despite being a ghost, struggles to keep two lovers apart, whom he had kept apart for five years. It takes immeasurable strength on behalf of Summer Cassidy to confront the lies and at the same time find the truth that Lord Stephen Bradley had all along try to tell her.
Yes, she gets a sweet kid names Kitty in the bargain but Summer lives a lie as has her husband Reggie Cassidy lives. He forgets what is true vs what is lie and mingles them together. Summer and Lors Stephen find love in the end but he almost costs his place in heaven with all the lies.
We see Suite 606 mentioned towards the end of the book, but we come across it none the less. I was irritated by both Reggie for his lies and Summer for believing her husband no matter how much he lies and she knows it. I breezed thru the chapters to stop reading the liar.
