If you want to check on the hikes that I completed so far, go here.
On the Sunday after my birthday, my brother and his family took me to Muir Woods National Monument. The whole are is filled with Redwood trees and we could hike among the giants. The Redwood trees are larger than Statue of Liberty with approx 379 ft. They form Family Circles where a single redwood tree would bring hundreds of young sprouts around this tree or a small seeds from a single tree grow into a large redwood tree. We hiked the Canopy View Trail which was supposed to be easiest of all, and I managed to complete everything with my trusty hiking stick at hand. 😛

We saw several oak leaves turned brown which is caused by Sudden Oak Death caused by an infection. A portion of the Redwood Trees form the Cathedral Grove in honor of 31st president Roosevelt who was the apostle of lasting peace for all mankind.

The forest is filled with animals, birds and various trees. Although I didn’t see animals, but we heard lots of birds and also saw a few flora.

A stone structure depicting the entire forest and surroundings is at the entrance.

On one side of the entrance it shows a structure of various birds depicting their wing span. The diagram beside shows which one belongs to what bird.

I love the photos taken on a boardwalk. Since we walked most of it on a boardwalk I had to take picture with them. 😛

We also saw a huge trunk along the trail showing the age of the tree. A trunk lied along the path too.

The trees certainly made me more humble and they are so huge.
