Prologue: Another blog post highlighting all kinds of festivals and events be it Indian or American or anything else. 🙂 Sometimes I include shows too.
Shakuntalam is the story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta, about the romance he had with her; and about he forgot about her due to a curse by Sage Durvasa. It is a classic Sanskrit play that explores the theme of love, fate, memory and redemption. The Indian Arts Foundation performed this play with traditional dances of India as part of Rasa Dance Project. Again we weren’t able to take the pics when they performed, but after and before. The key was everything was performed by women, even the men’s roles were done by women, adding to the women empowerment as well.

We were able to take video of a video of their dance at the entrance to the hall. Took some pics of them as well.

Funnily we say an Indian slipper down faced along the way.
