Leafing Through Pages – The Christmas Comet

Stars: 2 / 5

Recommendation: I got bored and depressed at the beginning, but I gradually warmed up to it. Our protagonist never learns her lesson even though she is rewarded at the end. That did not sit well with me.

The Christmas Comet is the fourth novella in the Mirror, Mirror anthology book published in September of 2013 by May Kay McComas. J. D. Robb published her novella with two of her recurring authors – Mary Blayney and Mary Kay McComas and two new authors – Elaine Fox and R. C. Ryan. T

It was nice to see Mary dedicate her novel to Tom Langan as well.

I got bored and depressed at the beginning, but I gradually warmed up to it. As the author explained towards the end, she took two fairy tales – The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen and The Start Money by Brothers Grimm – to form her story. She also notes that ISON was a comet in 2013-2014 that we could see.

Natalie, our protagonist, works really heard to help the homeless and provide shelter to them. So much so that it comes with a cost to her livelihood, her house, her income and sometimes danger to her. Yet, she is rewarded in the end to continue her help.
