Stars: 3 / 5
Recommendation: It is a cute time-travel romance novella, and was a quick read. We also see what is truly important that Alice realizes in the end, after her journey to the 21st century. Also Earl Weston changes his opinion and how changes need to start at home first after his visit to 21st century.
Alice and the Earl in Wonderland the eleventh and final novella in the Poppy’s Coin series written by Mary Blayney. This was originally published in Down the Rabbit Hole anthology book in September of 2015 in which Nora published her novella with four of her recurring authors – Mary Blayney, Elaine Fox, Mary Kay McComas and R. C. Ryan. This was subsequently released as its own. This is the Eighth book in the series although GoodReads.com calls it as the sixth book. It somehow missed two books in the series. 🙂
Mary Blaney gives a prologue to the novella as to how she started it with a single coin in Poppy’s Coin and it emerged into 8 novellas afterwards. She refers to Amy and the Earl’s Amazing Adventure (Poppy’s Coin #2) in that. We get to see glimpses of that book along the tale.
In that book, Amy and Earl West travel to 1805 from 2005 while in this book Alice and Earl of Weston travel to 2005 from 1805. Mr. Arbuckle helps the Earl of Weston and Alice to go thru the space-time continuum.
In that book, Amy and Earl West come away with the painting Venice by Guardi. Earl of Weston finds it missing after going back in this book, but that is the balance right. Since they leave the coin, the take the painting. 🙂
In that book, Martha Stepp is fired from her duties by Lady Anne, the sister of Earl of Weston. That follows a little in this book. Mr. Stepp wonders about Amy and Earl West’s behavior as they adjust from 2005 to 1805. Similarly when Earl of Weston is back, he learns a thing or two from being in 2005 and surprises Mr. Stepp.
The protagonist hero wonders if the time-travel to 21st century made him understand the plight and perils of human beings, particularly women in 1805. He will decide towards the end that the coin should travel with Martha Stepps after she finds a new placement courtesy of Alice and him. We see her in another novella on this series. But I fail to remember 😦

This is the last novella in this series by Mary. May be in future she will come up with more, but for now this is it. 🙂
