Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2025). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
Note: I am starting 9 days late so might post my poems more than one a day. 🙂
For Day 1 the Prompt given to us was to write a hilarious poem on a mundane thin in life with key words such as “tragedy”, “disaster”, “catastrophe” or something closer. This is what I came up with.
My Fated Date Book
Accidentally My Mother Chucked My Date Book Away
Into The Recycle Bin Where It Would Shred To Pieces.
A Hard Day Indeed When I Couldn’t Find The Book
And What’s In Store For Me This Week.
The Datebook Kept Me Up To Date With My Appointments
And It Contained Everything From Holidays To Time Offs
To Appointments To Anniversaries To Birthdays
To Important Astronomical Events To Some Place I Need To Go.
Now Its Like A Broken Arm For Me When I Couldn’t
Figure Out What I Am Supposed To Do This Week.
Made Me Wonder If It Is Not An Arm Anymore
And Became A Crutch To Me That I Depend On.
A Good Thing That My Mom Recycled It
Or Is It A Chaotic Mind That I Walked Into?
I Don’t Know Either And Knowing My Dependency Now
But It Hurt More And Broke Me A Little On The Lost One.
