For all the poems in this Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge, visit my musings here.
Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2025). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
Note: I am starting late so might post my poems more than one a day. π
For Day 6 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem that takes a sudden turn mid-way and come back to what was in the beginning. Half way through the topic changes . Here is my take melding past and present.
Life Goes On
Sitting On The Parapet Wall Talking To Friends
Gossiping About The Guys On The Other Side
And Looking Forward To Next Class In The Schedule
Because The Teacher Was So Handsome
Running Around In A Bus To Reach Work
On Time, So I Can Get To A Meeting On The Clock.
No Time To Eat Breakfast As I Have To Complete
What Came Out Of The Meeting
Watching The Movie Two Doors Down The Lane
Came With Bunking Classes Of The Handsome Teacher
Still Grooving To The Music Of The Movie
Talking About Highs And Lows Of It With Friends
Slogging The Entire Day From 9 To 5
On A Work That Gives Me Bread, Clothes And Shelter.
But Does It Give Peace Of Mind? I Donβt Know.
Wish I Could Earn The Same With Peace Of Mind On A Work That I Love.
Rushing To The Bus Stop To Catch The Last Bus
So I Am Not Late To Home And Get Caught By My Mother
Avoid A Hearing From Her But Lost In The Movie Music
While I Enter To Gates To My House Very Quietly.
Sleep Evades Me As Questions Linger In My Brain
From The Meetings I Had All Day; Someone Had To
Find Answers Tomorrow To Get The Project Moving
So Team Can Work On Their Tasks
