Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2025). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
Note: I am starting late so might post my poems more than one a day. 🙂
For Day 7 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem on an intangible or impossible thing to hold but you place in in your lap and converse with it. Here is my take a tangible thing instead.
Cozy Comforting Blanket
It Is Freezing Cold Today Even With The Fireplace On
And Heat On. Out Comes The Cozy Blanket.
Yes You Are Cozy And Comforting To Me
Providing Much Needed Warmth.
Yellow In Color With Indian Artistry On It
Looks Like A Painting But It Is A Print Of Something Famous.
Print On Both Sides, With A Downy Feather Like
Bedding Inside Which Keeps One Warm When Worn On Body.
Took Not More Than Pennies To Buy
But Took A Lot To Bring Is Via Flight From India.
Every Time I Hold You On My Lap
I Think Of The Place You Came From.
The Artist Who Worked On You
The Painter Who Created The Painting To Be Imprinted
And Finally The Shopkeeper Who Sold You To Me
In The Hopes That I Take You To Some Place Cold.
