For all the poems in this Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge, visit my musings here.
Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2025). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
Note: I am in 2026, but will continue with the prompts and poems.
For Day 21 the prompt given to us was to write a poem about choice paralysis. Capture the absurdity or despair of the indecision. Here is my take.
Friday Night’s Dilemma Of A Screen
On A Friday Night, We Friends Gather And Chill
At 9pm Someone Brainstorms To Watch A Flick.
Having Eaten The Cooked Food On A Grill
Its Time To Take Control Of The Remote For The Right Pick.
Browsing Thru Several OTT Platforms
Be It Hindi, Telugu Or English Language
Films, One Has To Agree On A Form Of The Several Forms
First Before One Releases The Anguish
Like The Waves Leashed Out Of Storms
When Someone Suggests Lets Go Spanish.
By The Time A Form And The Language Is Decided
Its Past Mid-Night, And Most Are Ready To Sleep.
Suddenly All Realize What Has Been Discovered
Only To Grasp That The Flick Was Seen Last Time. Bleep.
