For all the poems in this Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge, visit my musings here.
Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2025). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.
Note: I am in 2026, but will continue with the prompts and poems till Dec 31st 2025.
For Day 24 the prompt given to us was to write a poem where you enter a gallery of photos belonging to your memories, but they are mis-labeled. Let the poem waded thru the museum with the mis-labels and tell a strange story. Here is my take.
Museum Of Memories
Walking Across The Fair With Friends We Came
Upon The Funny Museum Called Museum Of Memories
And Walked Into It To Look At Each Frame
To See Whose Memories Were There From Centuries.
Imagine My Surprise To See My Own Face
In Every Memory Etched There
Friends Were Laughing At What They See In Each Case
But Some Are Things I Never Share.
Some Are Events That I Never Remembered Doing
Or Going To. What Am I Doing On The Morning
Of That Spring Day Laxing On The Tire Swing?
Or Is That Me By The Bowling Prize That I Am Sporting?
Every Frame, Every Face Is Me
Yet The Events Never Happened In My Life
Someone Is Rubbing Their Hands With Glee
That They Could Poke Into My Memories With A Knife.
I Woke Up On My Bed, With My Sheets Across
Me. With Relief That It Was Only A Weird
Nightmare. Me Playing Lacrosse
Or Bowling Or Any Event As I Was A Nerd.
The Dream Scared Me Enough To Go To Kitchen
To Grab Some Water. And I See On The Walls
In Every Frame The Same Pictures But Written
Below The Event Name Which Is All False.
