This song is from the 1982 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film Sanam Teri Kasam (= Swear on you, my beloved). Music was composed Rahul Dev Burman aka R. D. Burman while the Lyrics were penned by Gulshan Bhawra. It was Sung by Asha Bhosle. It was pictured on the famous heroine Reena Roy and Kamal Hassan. Movie sory -line is similar to the hit 1957 film Tumsa Nahin Dekha (= Saw Nobody Like You).
R.D. Burman got his very first Filmfare Best Music Director Award for this song. Reena Roy, the lead actress in the film, was a guest in the TVs reality show involving singers in that particular episode where this song was sung again. I always thought
The reality show had female version. But the film had a male version and duet of the same song.
Here is the male version. It was sung by Kishore Kumar. The first and second antara has different lines from the female version.
