This is from the 2007 Indian Hindi-language sports film Chak De! India (= Let’s Go! India). Music was composed by Salim – Sulaiman (Musical Duo) to the Lyrics penned by Jaideep Sahni. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Salim–Sulaiman and Marianne D’Cruz.
Although this song was written for this sports film, revolving around Women’s Hockey, this has become a sports anthem and has been played across many sports events in India. And this has become the sports anthem for the country especially after India won the Cricket World Cup in 2011. This was one of the song sung by the singers on the TV’s reality show involving singers for Indian Republic Day. This was one of the movies that I wondered why SRK did such a matured role, as the coach of Indian Women’s Hockey Team, but he justified the role very much.
