This song is from the 1985 Indian Telugu-language film Aalapana (= Name of a Raaga). In Carnatic classical music, alapana is a form of manodharmam, or improvisation, that introduces and develops a raga (musical scale). It communicates the permitted notes and phrases of the raga, setting the mood for the composition that follows.
Music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja to the Lyrics penned by Veturi Sundarama Murthy and C. Narayana Reddy. Sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and S. Janaki.
