Bites N Flavors – The Library Wine Bar & Bistro

For posts on various restaurants that I visited, go here.

Prologue: May 10th is National Small Business Day. One of those are these cute little mom and pop restaurants or locally owned cafes and dive-ins. This series brings forth those little nuggets of places that I visit for my meals.

Verdictum:
An elegant bistro experience in a repurposed location that was pure fun, charming and interesting, even though the prices were a little high.

A year ago we went to this unique restaurant – The Library Wine Bar & Bistro in Wallingford, Connecticut. The original Wallingford’s library built in 1899 has been converted to a wine bar and bistro in 2014 after restoring it to its original charm.

Here are my 2 cents:

First Impressions:
1. Reservation is not required, but better do one to get a cozy corner like how we got.

2. Menu has less non-meat options, but what we found were interesting and unique.
3. Price is little higher than what I would have expected.
4. There is a Brunch Buffet on Sundays that comes with a reasonable price, in case you want to try. We went for dinner.
5. Seasonal decorations were all around making the restaurant all the more prettier.

6. Ample rooms with themes for any banquet or private parties.
7. Loved that they used old books’ shell as check holder.

Amelioration:
1. Increase non-meat items for those who don’t eat meat or fish
2. Price could be a little lower if possible, but still a decent one.
