Before you get to the Shepaug Eagle Observatory at Shepaug Dam, the first thing one sees is a hoard of Ground Satellites all pointed in various directions. They intimidated me while I was driving by them. We were told that these satellites monitor the navigation of ships that come in and out of Coastal Connecticut. They had a notification that we should be staying inside our vehicles while passing them. Interesting!
