Prologue: I have been meaning to write a series about Holidays and Observances that we (my family and friends) follow in both India (my birth country) and USA (my adopted country). This series is dedicated to those. On a side note, perhaps I might witness some of the celebrations from other countries as well that may get their way into this series. 🙂
Every year on March 17th, everyone and anyone who calls them Irish celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day in honor of Ireland’s most beloved patron saint, St. Patrick. Originally formed in 1631, this is one of the festivals celebrated globally now and has become more Americanized than Irish in recent years. It is surrounded with parades and lots of drinking in contrary to what originally it was celebrated.
For this day, my Sister-in-law, Sumina made this Leprechaun Trap as part of my youngest nephew’s art project. Well, he didn’t help much and my SIL was left to finish it. 😛 It turned out really good.
