Imagine-Art: Battle of Midway Memorial

For posts on all Murals, Sculptures and Artwork I have come across, go here.

Prologue: I am always amazed at imagination that artists use various colors to bring to life on a wall. And so also what they create with any kind of metal. These are some of those murals, sculptures and any kind of amazing artwork that I came across in my travels and adventures.

I was surprised to see a memorial dedicated to Midway Battle in Midway International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. It documents how the men of United States Pacific Fleet faced a mighty enemy fleet on Midway Island and changed the course of the Pacific War and history in 1942.

You can this at the entrance to Concourse A. Don’t forget to look up to see the Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber suspended from the ceiling.
