Strange Oddities and Peculiar Pretties: Decorated Bicycles

For all posts about the wonderful and weird surprising stuff I did or saw, click here.

Every year in the month of May, the town of Old Wethersfield in Connecticut goes all out in welcoming spring in a unique way. All the vendors and stores on Main Street decorate old bicycles in different ways – paint them, wrap them in colorful papers, add some embellishments and characters – and are put on the street all along the walkway.

I took my parents along with me to see these decorated bicycles. They were surprised that even such a thing is an event. They were charmed and enjoyed it thoroughly. Here are some of them and with them.

I love this of my mom – her saree colors blend with the bicycle colors perfectly.

One of the bicycle was decorated with old CDs – one way to reuse old CDs.

Even Ferdinand, the Flower Bull, got his own bicycle. šŸ˜›

This was in front of an antique store – notice the records and record player that makes the accessories on this old tricycle.

Loved this unique bicycle corral. šŸ˜›

And here are some more from the event.
