Third Supermoon – Blue Moon (Aug 30 2023)

The third Supermoon of this year, 2023, fell on August 31st. And it is the Blue Moon which is a calendrical Blue Moon (the second full Moon in a calendar month). This is not a rare one, yet it is a unique event that occurs every two and a half years. The last time we had this it was on October 31st in 2020, and that was a rare Halloween Blue Moon.

We may not see a Halloween Blue Moon until October 31st 2077, but we had an opportunity to see a calendrical Blue Moon this year. A celestial event I hope you all got to watch, because the next time a super blue moon happens it will be in 2037.
