Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge: Day 31

For all the poems in this Two Sylvias Press Advent Calendar challenge for 2023, visit my musings here.

Prologue: This is a 31 day event that helps poets and authors all over to pen down 31 new poems in the month of December (2023). Every day we can open the calendar for that day to read about the prompt for that day. Then let your imagination fly to infinity with your thoughts and voice.

For Day 31 the Prompt given to us was to write a poem about events or moments of last year that either you want to forget or remember. Here is my take which is very different from what the prompt asked us to use.

Prompt 31: Troughs And Crests of a Life Note.

A year filled with memories
And unexpected perils.
Started on a high note of fantasies
Turned to reality in may levels.

Alas, the note had to fall down
With a health news so sudden
Made my days colored brown.
Until a path shown so brighten.

The note rose again as family
Gathered around sending healing
Strength; picking up the pace slowly
Moving into new places very pleasing.

Finally the note steadied itself
As the year concluded paving way;
Providing therapeutic inner self
Readying me to get my backpay.
