Prologue: A fun series that documents my travels.
When I went to India a few months ago, I got an opportunity to visit Jaipur, the Pink City, in the state of Rajasthan. Also it was a memorable trip since I went with my extended family. First stop was Birla Mandir, one of many such constructed all through India. Primarily built of white marble, it is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and her husband Lord Narayana. This was built in 1977, four distinct parts of the temple: its sanctum, tower, main hall, and entrance. It has three towers, referencing the three main faiths of India.

The temple hadnt still opened when we went but it is home for other Gods from various faiths. The temple grounds have beautiful gardens and comes with a museum too.

The temple borders alongside a natural reserve for peacocks. We got to see several of them all thru our trip, unfortunately none with their tails up into a fan.
