Prologue: Two of my favorite things that Mother Nature gives us to feast at are the Sunrise and Sunset. I can never get enough of them. So for 2022, I picked a Sunrise-Sunset themed blog where I will be posting one collaged picture of a Sunrise and a Sunset, one for each month of the year. Hoping that you will enjoy this photo collage of two of my favorite topics as well!.
If you have been following my Beacons of Fire blog series, you would have already guessed that my Sunrise-Sunset photos for the month of July will be coming from the Martha’s Vineyard Island in Massachussets. And you would be perfectly right. So here I present them.
Martha’s Vineyard has several locations where we could watch Sunrise or Sunset from. We stayed in the town of Vineyard Haven. The local guide mentioned that we could see both Sunrise and Sunset from either side of Vineyard Haven Harbor. And that is what I picked, as it is a half mile to a mile walk.
The Sun rose from behind the very many kinds of boats that were docked at Vineyard Haven Harbor. They made a perfect photo prop for me.

But right before the sun rose, the clouds in the sky were tinted in orange-red color giving them the feel of a field of fiery popcorns. š

I love this particular shot where the rigging rope of the mast looks like going through the rising sun. I wonder if the boat will rise along the sun and fly away. š

For the Sunset I walked a mile to the other side of the Vineyard Haven Harbor towards the Lagoon Pond where a stretch of rocks extended like an arm giving a perfect vantage point to view the setting sun.

It was interesting to see how many people waited there to view this magnificent nature’s daily miracle. I capture a few of them.

Again I got to get the rising moon and setting sun in the same frame.

And here is the moon in close-up.

Beautiful pictures, Aparna! Martha’s Vineyard is a special place and you’ve found the perfect spots for photos.

Thank you Lisa. I enjoyed it a lot too. I still have two more lighthouses to finish…so mostly will go there next year or later this year. š
