Prologue: A fun series that documents my travels.
Continuing the sights of City Palace of Jaipur in the State of Rajasthan, India.
Chandra Mahal is the oldest complex in the City Palace with Seven floors. This is where we see most of the City Palace sections. The Sarvato Bhadra is the Hall of Private Audience, but don’t forget to see the two large Silver Urns placed there. They hold the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest sterling silver vessels. These vessels were specially commissioned by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II to carry the water of the Ganges to drink on his trip to England in 1902 (for Edward VII’s coronation). Hence, the vessels are named as Gangajalis (Ganges-water urns). Notice the Entrance gates that are so ornate.
