This is from the 1978 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film Don. It also inspired several South Indian remakes, including the Telugu film Yugandhar (1979) and the Tamil film Billa (1980). It is also known for its theme music, which was used in the American Dad! episode “Tearjerker” (2008).
Music was composed by Kalyanji – Anandji to the Lyrics penned by Anjaan and Indeevar. Sung by Asha Bhosle. The intro of this song was sampled by the Black Eyed Peas for the song “Don’t Phunk with My Heart” (2005)
This movie also inspired to make Don Franchise by the director Farhan Akhtar – Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006) and its sequel Don 2 (2011). In the 2006 movie, since it is reboot of 1978 movie, this iconic song was remixed in the movie. Music was composed by Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy to the Lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar. The was originally composed by Kalyanji – Anandji which was redone here. Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.
