This song is from the 1982 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film Satte Pe Satta (= Seven on Seven). The story of the film was adapted from the American film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), which is based on the short story “The Sobbin’ Women” by Stephen Vincent Benét, which was based in turn on the ancient Roman legend of the Rape of the Sabine women. I posted a couple of songs from this film before. Here is another one from the same movie.
Music was composed by R. D. Burman to the Lyrics penned by Gulshan Bhawra. Again this song is in different moods – one sad and one happy.
Here is the Happy Version Sung by Kishore Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Sapan Chakraborty and R. D. Burman.
And here is the Sad Version Sung by Kishore Kumar.
Lyrics transliterated for the happy version:
Hey Zindagi Mil Ke Bitayenge; Haal-E-Dil Gaa Ke Sunayenge
Hum Toh Saat Rang Hai; Yeh Jahan Rangeen Banayenge
Zindagi Mil Ke Bitayenge; Haal-E-Dil Gaa Ke Sunayenge
Hum Toh Saat Rang Hai; Yeh Jahan Rangeen Banayenge
Sargam Hum Se Bane; Naghme Hum Se Jawan
Jhoome Aasman
Hum Hi Toh Duniya Ke Saat Ajoobe Hai; Hum Se Hai Jahan
Sargam Hum Se Bane; Naghme Hum Se Jawan
Jhoome Aasman
Arrey Hum Hi Toh Duniya Ke Saat Ajoobe Hai
Hum Se Hai Jahan; Duat Duat Duat Duat Duat Duat Hey
Zindagi Mil Ke Bitayenge; Haal-E-Dil Gaa Ke Sunayenge
Hum Toh Saat Rang Hai; Yeh Jahan Rangeen Banayenge
Khushiyan Baatenge Hum; Har Gham Mil Ke Sahe
Phir Kyun Aansoo Bahe
Arre Ban Ke Sahara; Ek Duje Ka Yunhi Chalte Rahe
Khushiyan Baatenge Hum; Har Gham Mil Ke Sahe
Phir Kyun Aansoo Bahe
Ban Ke Sahara Ek Duje Ka Yunhi Chalte Rahe
Duat Duat Duat Duat Duat Duat Hoye
Zindagi Mil Ke Bitayenge; Haal-E-Dil Gaa Ke Sunayenge
Hum Toh Saat Rang Hai; Yeh Jahan Rangeen Banayenge
Hey Hey Zindagi Mil Ke Bitayenge; Haal-E-Dil Gaa Ke Sunayenge
Hum Toh Saat Rang Hai; Yeh Jahan Rangeen Banayenge
